Our Story
Over the last several years, I have listened to my son and daughter talking about the networking they do and contacts they make on social networking sites. I kept telling my son, "I want to do that, people my age would have a good time, too. But, I didn't want to use the same site my kids used, nor did I want to encounter messages from teenagers and twenty-somethings looking to "hook-up."
The avalanche of magazine articles about popular sites in the spring and summer of 2006 ramped up my complaints. Finally, probably because he was afraid he'd get the news that I'd just joined MYSPACE, my son said, "Fine, if you want a site like this so much, we'll build one, if you come up with funding." His friend found the programmers, and our journey to launching Blinxi began.
So, what is it?
E-mail allows you to send and receive messages—Blinxi offers you a home on the internet. The network you build becomes your community.
Use it to communicate with friends—old and new—and to find and share information about people and things that interest you: events in your real and cyber communities; forums and groups that offer information on any topic. You can form your own group of family and another of friends. You can create a forum to discuss issues or promote your own special skills.
Blinxi will become what we all, collectively, want it to be. The content will evolve and expand as our community does. Invite friends and neighbors to join you in your new "neighborhood."
